Our Story

Our story begins in the summer of 1986, when Founder and CEO, Ronald W. Rogé took a leap of faith, leaving his secure position with NYNEX (New York Telephone) to pursue his passion of financial planning, and establishing R.W. Rogé & Company, Inc. The firm was one of only a handful of fee-only financial advisory firms in business at the time.

The 1990’s brought much success for R.W. Rogé & Company, Inc. Ron was recognized by Worth Magazine as one of the “60 Best Advisors in the Nation,” and elected to serve on the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) Board of Directors for a three-year term. Prior to serving on the board, he chaired the NAPFA public relations committee — launching an aggressive campaign to educate the New York financial press about the many advantages of “fee-only” financial advice, establishing the term “fee-only” firmly in the minds of the trade and consumer press. Since then, according to ThinkAdvisor magazine, the financial services industry has never been the same.

Our rich history set the stage for the influential financial firm we are today, still helping clients as a fee-only, fiduciary firm. All our beliefs stem from Ron’s personal principles, and our values are rooted in what he instilled into the firm from the beginning, including a “client-first” philosophy, team approach, and a unique planning methodology. Ron’s legacy and principles will forever be engrained in the way we do business.

Here’s what you can expect with our detailed, Plan, Achieve, Live® process:

  1. Complimentary Discovery Call: After we review your preliminary questionnaire, we will schedule your complimentary discovery call. This is where we get to know each other, help you articulate your goals, discuss your unique needs, and explain more about our firm and our services.
  2. Data Gathering: If we are a good fit for each other, we begin data-gathering. During this stage, a cash flow analysis, risk tolerance, and other fact-finding tools are used to begin the planning process.
  3. Establish Your Account: Next, we establish your account and grant you access to our secure client portal which we use for sharing important financial planning information.
  4. Plan Presentation: Finally, we review your plan together, answer your questions, make any necessary adjustments, and discuss next steps.
  5. Ongoing Partnership: Our process doesn’t end with the presentation of your plan. Our greatest assets and the key to our success are the unique relationships we build with our clients. We are not just your financial advisors; we are your guides on your life’s journey. We provide you and your loved ones with ongoing coaching, financial services, and financial plan updates.

This process creates a strong foundation for data-backed, fact-based decisions and in many cases, life-long relationships with our clients.
