If you did not live on Long Island, where would you choose to live?
Italy. I’ve been there many times and I feel very much at home there. The people, food and history are all of interest to me. This is probably due to the fact that I was raised primarily by my Italian grandmother.
Name an unforgettable place you have travelled?
Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt in 2008. I love ancient history and it does not get more ancient than the Pyramids, Sphinx and the Cairo Museum. I love being able to connect with the past, probably because so much of my working day is involved with planning for the future.
What’s your favorite quote?
“I’ve lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” — Mark Twain
What types of clients do you particularly enjoy working with?
I enjoy helping and improving the lives of everyone I work with. If I had to choose though, I would say business owners because as a business owner, I understand that they are busy and appreciate assistance in achieving their goals.
What is one indulgence you will never forego?
My morning shower followed by a cup of Peet’s Coffee made in our Keurig brewing machine.
What type of music do you listen to most often?
Jazz and Rock.
If you weren’t in your current profession, what would you choose to do?
I love what I am currently doing. I am always learning and want to share what I’ve learned, so perhaps a journalist, writer or teacher. Maybe even a philosopher, although I have not seen any “help wanted” ads for a philosopher in my lifetime.
What’s one movie you could watch over and over again?
The Godfather.
What was the last meal that truly impressed you?
While on vacation in Tuscany, we took a cooking class at Il Falconeri. We prepared the three course lunch, the staff cooked it for us and served it to us in their beautiful five star restaurant.
Tell us something about you that most people don’t know?
My undergraduate degree is in Chemistry, and my Masters Degree is in Business Administration. I also attended Stony Brook University’s PhD program in Economics. I didn’t finish that program because I had a family to support and a very good job at the time, and the PhD program required full-time attendance during the day. Right after college, I also served in the U.S. Navy (Naval Air) during the Vietnam War.
