In Loving Memory of our Founder and CEO, Ronald W. Rogé

Ronald W. Rogé, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023, in Saint James, N.Y. He was born on March 7, 1947, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Nancy and Fred Rogé. He was a beloved spouse, parent, grandparent, boss, and friend to many.

Ronald W. Rogé was known for his kind heart, unwavering compassion, and a zest for life that touched everyone he encountered. He had a passion for travel, history, chemistry, writing, financial planning, and investing, and his enthusiasm and sense of humor was infectious, inspiring those around him to embrace life to the fullest.

Ron grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he often spoke of fond memories surrounded by his loving parents, grandparents, and extended family. Always an entrepreneurial spirit, Ron’s first business was a paper route as a young boy. During the Vietnam war, Ron served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy (Naval Air). He graduated college with a BS in Chemistry, as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and was offered an Assistant Engineer position with New York Telephone. While Ron climbed the ranks at New York Telephone for several years, he spent a lot of his spare time reading and learning about investing and financial planning.

In 1986, with his prestigious Certified Financial Planner® designation in hand, Ron left the telephone business and founded R.W. Rogé & Company, Inc. In the 1990’s, Ron became a pioneer in the financial industry, spearheading the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) public relations committee to help publicize the importance of working with fee-only financial advisors. Among many awards and accolades, Ron was recognized by Worth Magazine as one of the “60 Best Advisors in the Nation.”

As a business owner, Ron had a way of knowing exactly what the business needed at each point in time. He invested money in technology to make the business run smoothly – which came in handy during the COVID-19 pandemic when his entire team was able to seamlessly work from home. He was also adamant about having processes in place for each aspect of the business. Most importantly, he directed his employees to treat others the way they would want to be treated. Today, R.W. Rogé & Company, Inc. is a well-oiled machine because of the drive and determination Ron put into it from the beginning. Ron was not just a visionary leader, and pioneer in the financial industry, but a true inspiration to the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.

In his free time, Ron enjoyed reading, travelling, fine dining, and spending time with his loved ones. Ron travelled to places like Italy, the Caribbean, South Africa, London, Scotland, Scandinavia, and Russia.

Ron is survived by his spouse, Rosanne Rogé, his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Susan Rogé, his grandchildren Benjamin and Samantha Rogé, and the R.W. Rogé team. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
