In The End, Everything Will Be All Right! Or Will It?

In The End, Everything Will Be All Right! Or Will It?

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is a movie about a group of newly retired folks who through misfortune or a lack of proper planning and saving for retirement find themselves in a financial shortfall that requires them to look for a more affordable and less desirable place to live.  They can no longer afford to stay in the United Kingdom and respond to an advertisement to come to India and live at the Marigold Hotel for the elderly and beautiful.

I first saw this movie on a return flight from the United Kingdom in 2012.  It stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Dev Petal, and many other great actors.

The movie is about unwanted changes, later in life, that require people to live in a location they never could have imagined.  They are required to make a change because of poor financial decisions they made while they were still employed and capable of saving.

It is a fabulous, thought-provoking story—a real gem! A great many messages about life are present in this movie.  One line I liked very much:

“In the end, everything will be all right.  And if everything is not all right, then it is not yet the end.”

This line actually represents a great philosophy to have about life.  Think about it. When is everything really all right?  Rarely is life ever perfect.  We may strive for perfection, but there is always something else to worry about. We might have days when everything seems to be running smoothly and we feel good, but most of the time, we are usually concerned about something.  So if you are concerned or worried about something, be positive. It’s not yet the end.

Now that is no excuse for not taking charge today and creating your own future.  As financial advisors, our job is to think about the future and determine what you will need to live the life you desire and help you avoid any unwanted lifestyle changes later in life.  Imagine working all your life and suddenly having to live an unimaginable life in another country!

So watch the movie on Netflix, and then start taking charge of your future. Please call us and/or visit our website www.rwroge.com.  Be sure to also view the short introductory video on our site.
